How does this eDesign thing work?

eDesign, or online virtual design, is a convenient and affordable way to get the interior design services you need without having to meet with an interior designer in person.

The process begins with you filling out a fun and easy design questionnaire. This questionnaire provides me with the information I need to begin your design, such as your budget, your style preferences, and the specific needs of your space.

Once I have reviewed your questionnaire, I will provide you with a quote on my flat fee rate. I often give a discount for larger projects. You can pay with a credit card via PayPal or via the WaveApp invoice, which is similar to PayPal but does not require me to have access to your credit card information.

We will communicate via email and/or video chat sessions throughout the design process. Design concepts and finalized designs will be presented and discussed via your private online portal.

Upon approval of the final design, I will provide you with my specifications and recommendations via an interactive online shopping list. This shopping list will include all of the pertinent information you need to purchase the products I have selected, such as the product name, the product link, and the product price.

I will also provide you with styling instructions and tips for completing your design.

I believe that edesign is a great way to get the interior design services you need without having to leave your home. It is convenient, affordable, and efficient. If you are interested in learning more about edesign, please do not hesitate to contact me.

How much are your design fees?

Most projects are quoted on a flat-fee basis according to how many hours that I estimate the project to require to complete. My fee is $100/hour. You may hire me on an hourly basis at a minimum of 15 hours, or request a custom quote for a flat-fee package. Taxes and processing fees will apply.

What are your deliverables?

I understand that each project has unique requirements and thus, the deliverables will be tailored accordingly to meet your specific needs. To provide you with a comprehensive understanding of what to expect, the details will be clearly outlined in the Quote and the Letter of Agreement.

Outlined below are the general deliverables that I typically offer:

1. Project Analysis:

Thoroughly examining the space and understanding your goals and preferences. This analysis helps me formulate a design strategy that aligns with your vision.

2. Mood Board:

Creating a visually inspiring collage that captures the desired ambiance, color palette, materials, and key design elements. This serves as a foundation for the overall aesthetic direction of the project.

3. Initial Design Concept:

Developing a preliminary design plan that integrates your preferences with professional expertise. This concept provides a starting point to initiate discussions and refine the design further.

4. Revision Phase:

Engaging in a collaborative process where your feedback and input are valued. We will iteratively refine the design concept based on your preferences, ensuring it meets your expectations.

5. 3D Photo Realistic Rendering:

Producing high-quality, lifelike renderings that enable you to visualize the proposed design in detail. These renderings bring the project to life, showcasing the spatial arrangement, furniture placement, lighting effects, and overall aesthetic.

6. Specifications or Shopping List:

Compiling a comprehensive list of recommended products, materials, finishes, and furnishings that are aligned with the design concept. This document provides guidance for sourcing and purchasing the necessary items to bring the design to fruition.

7. Instructions for Completing Your Design:

Providing clear instructions on implementing the design, including guidance on spatial layout, furniture arrangement, lighting placement, and any specific design considerations. These instructions ensure a seamless execution of the design vision.

Can we talk about the budget?

Engaging in a dialogue about the budget for your esteemed project is of utmost importance. Customizing the price points to harmonize with your distinctive requirements, whether you yearn for a bespoke masterpiece or a tasteful semblance reminiscent of the revered Pottery Barn style, is paramount. Fostering the development of a meticulously defined budget serves as the linchpin for a successful project execution that surpasses your lofty expectations.

To aid you in the discernment of your financial framework, I shall furnish you with an all-encompassing worksheet. This invaluable instrument shall help you assess your financial parameters, enabling a judicious allocation of resources. With a profound understanding of your fiscal limitations, I can tailor the design solutions that not only satiate your desires but also remain steadfastly grounded in fiscal prudence.

It's important to note that I have experience working with a diverse range of budgets. . I have successfully designed rooms with a budget of under $2000, demonstrating my ability to create exceptional spaces while being mindful of cost-effective solutions. Additionally, I have also undertaken projects with budgets starting at $40,000 and beyond. Regardless of the budget range, you can trust me to deliver a remarkable design that aligns with your means and surpasses your expectations.

By engaging in a candid discussion about the budget, we can collaboratively pave the path for an unerring design odyssey that transcends the boundaries of monetary confines, while orchestrating a symphony of magnificence that echoes your discerning taste.

Are there additional costs?

I make every effort to give you an accurate cost analysis, but there is always the possibility of additional charges such as storage, shipping, or installation. If you’ve purchased a flat-fee custom package, that is the total cost for design services, unless additional requests are made outside the scope of the Letter of Agreement. Can I shop independently?

In order to maintain the integrity of the design, size, and budget for your space, I kindly request that you refrain from independently selecting or purchasing items that may compromise the envisioned aesthetic. Detailed specifications for items available for direct purchase will be provided to ensure a cohesive design implementation.

I would like to place an order. What should I do?

To proceed with placing an order, the following steps should be followed:

1. Upon approval of the final design presentation, I will provide you with a specifications document, also known as a shopping list. This document will outline the recommended items for your project.

2. In most cases, for online edesign projects, you have the option to place an order directly from the provided specifications or shopping list. This allows for a seamless and convenient shopping experience.

3. If you opt for my complimentary order placing service, please note the following process:

   a. Within three days from the date of receiving the proposal, you are required to accept or decline the offer. This is to ensure timely processing of your order.

   b. To proceed with the order, a signed proposal or approval on Studio Projects is necessary. This step confirms your agreement with the terms and conditions outlined in the proposal.

   c. Full payment for the order is required before the order can be placed. Once the Designer receives the signed proposal and full payment, the order will be initiated on your behalf.

4. Rest assured that the Designer will take care of placing the order for your project item(s) as part of the complimentary order placement service for local design projects. The items will be shipped directly to your designated address for your convenience.

By following these steps, you can successfully place an order for your desired items and proceed with the implementation of your project.

Can I change my mind after a product order is placed?

I am confident that my 3D photo-realist renders will eliminate any buyer's remorse. However, if you do change your mind after placing an order, most retail online locations allow returns. If you are ordering from my shopping list, please refer to the item's return policy.

Custom orders are not eligible for refunds.

If a full refund is possible, you may cancel the order and receive a refund for the item price less the purchasing fee and any other applicable fees. Local clients paying hourly will be charged for the time spent on canceled orders. Orders for custom products are nonrefundable.

With a wealth of experience in the field of interior design, as of 2022, I bring a cumulative experience of nine years to the table. My educational background includes a rigorous four-year program at Michigan State University, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Human Environment & Design, specializing in Interior Design. This accredited education provided me with a strong foundation in the principles and practices of the field.

To stay at the forefront of industry trends and advancements, I have consistently pursued further education and professional development opportunities. Since 2020, I have been studying eDesign with eDesign U (now part of the MyDoma experience), expanding my knowledge and skills in the realm of online design services. Additionally, I have engaged in various online design business courses, enabling me to enhance my entrepreneurial acumen.

Throughout my career, I have gained valuable real-world experience through internships and working within the industry. This hands-on exposure has allowed me to refine my skills and deepen my understanding of the complexities of interior design. In 2019, I took a significant step by establishing my own firm, initially known as Julie Ann Rachelle Interior Design. This venture eventually evolved into Julie Ann Rachelle Interiors LLC in 2021, solidifying my commitment to providing exceptional design services.

Among my notable achievements, I had the honor of being published in Interior Design magazine even before graduating from Michigan State University.
