If you know me from Facebook or Instagram, you know that my husband and I do not have children.
Therefore, I have to work a little bit harder to bring the spirit of the holidays into our home each year.
In the past, I participated for a decade in Shimelle’s Journal Your Christmas, starting on December 1st. It’s a once a day or once a week illustrative journal or scrapbook of your holiday.
It always slowed me down, and allowed me to be in the moment, before the season rushed by in a flurry.
I found that if I didn’t take this time to slow down, and especially if I waited to decorate our home until the last minute, I just wasn’t in the holiday spirit as I wanted to be.
What puts you in the holiday spirit?
Is it buying gifts? decking the halls? building a snowman?
While I can’t be there to help you build a snowman, I can point you to a few items that will help you decorate for a festive season, and perhaps you’ll see an item or two that you’ll want to gift as well.
These are items I either have in my own home, would want in my own home, and/or have some type of sentimental meaning to me.
